Seems more wrongdoers were washed away by a flood, albeit on a much smaller scale than in the biblical tale of Noah’s Ark. A trio of oxygen thieves have been caught in floodwaters in a storm water drain in Sydney while vandalizing the drains with graffiti. These people were aged between 21 and 27, which is well and truly old enough to know better, and know the risks of being in a storm water drain.
Unfortunately one has survived, however 2 of them were drowned. Of course this miracle has come at a price to the taxpayer, as everything does.
sparking a search by police on foot, PolAir and the Westpac rescue helicopter.
During the search it doesn’t appear that it was known that they were vandals, although I doubt that would have made a difference. I don’t suppose the survivor or the families of the recently ‘Darwin award’ contenders will be billed for the huge expense of the search and rescue attempt.
As asked by a bystander:
The question is what are they doing here in the first place?
I wonder if they sprayed ‘arrrrgggghhhhh’ as they were washed away…
