A YOUNG Tasmanian family is living in conditions the RSPCA has deemed not fit for dogs.
For five months a family have been living in a broken down car in Devonport. The dogs were seized by the RSPCA, who have deemed the conditions unfit for the animals to live.
News.com would have us read this and weep with pity for this family who have hit hard times, however after reading the story from several sources, one would realise that as usual, this is self perpetuated misery. The reason the RSPCA step in and take the dogs, is because they don’t have a choice in the matter. They need to be protected from people this stupid.
The reason that they lost the taxpayer funded home, is because they left the keys to the house with a ‘trusted friend’, who trashed the house, causing $8500 damage, and then handed the keys in. The family then stayed on the streets of Melboure for 12 months before heading back to Devonport.
Due to this stupidity, the family are unable to get private rental or department of housing as they have been blacklisted. So they should be. I wouldn’t want them renting from me. They have been offered accomodation, but on the condition that they give up the dog..and the six puppies. Of course keeping the dog is more important than a roof over their heads.
And now the really moronic part. Once a week, the family go to a hotel for the night. Now there’s a way to make the money last.
The poor man states “If I’m still living in a car in six months, I’m going to die and it seems no one cares.” WRONG BUDDY. We DO care. Good riddance I say. Another tax drain blocked. And from the comments on the news.com site, I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Once again, these people feel that everything should be handed to them on a silver platter, and if that platter isn’t perfect, then we should all try harder just for them.

There are always 2 sides to a situation, and for those of you who would like to hear it from their side, you can find it in the August 20 edition of TAKE 5 Magazine. Unfortunately, before you get out the tissues – it doesn’t read any better than what was written in the newspapers.
Yes, she gave the keys to a drongo of a ‘mate’ – put him in charge of their house and possessions, then took off over to Melbourne to be with her BF for a couple of weeks ( which is priority over rental arrears ). Not much of a mention on what this loser did, but lucky enough – there was funds to fly the dogs over to the mainland when the house got repo’d by the DHS. And who doesn’t love someone rocking up on their doorstep with the ass out of their pants and a couple of dogs?…obviously the potential Mother In Law – who got fed up with the lot of them after 2 weeks…
Hermiting around Melbourne didn’t produce any better circumstances ( What? No streets paved with gold?)…then one of the dogs got Dunloped –which prompted the tribe to move back to the Apple Isle for a ‘fresh start’. (No furniture, jobs, house or money is deemed a ‘fresh start’)
Of course, situation wasn’t much better back there, the fresh start looking a bit mouldy, especially when the DHS weren’t going to cough up another house until the arrears (don’t they pay FA for these places?) and repairs (courtesy of their deadbeat buddy) was paid for.
Not to worry….the BFs DVT clot must of travelled away from the grey matter as he emerged with the brilliant idea of ‘living in a car’. Unfortunately, due to them blowing money on the dogs Qantas Club Membership instead of a visit to the vet – they had to share the 2 Bedder with Bonnet views…. with a litter of pups.
It was only as they were whisked away by the RSPCA (good job guys ) did she feel like she had hit ‘rock bottom’
Not to worry…with a repayment plan and back in the good books of the DHS, our happy campers are back in another house. Described as feeling like they have ‘won the lottery’ ( shame we’re not in that Sweep hey taxpayers?) and now settled in the house with the BF – they feel that there is ‘nothing they cant do’ after their ordeal…With combined benefits of $1300, Concessions, Health care cards, no childcare fees, a government subsided house…and $600 for this story of woe – I reckon so too.
